This year, the renowned "Zwickauer
Musiktage" are not only "A Feast for Schumann" but also
for Norbert Burgmüller
. On 8th of Junei 2003 the Philharmonische Orchester Plauen-Zwickau conducted
by Dieter-Gerhard Worm will
perform the 2nd Symphony in D op.11. Even more spectacular appears the
programe for the 15th of
June 2003: the internationally highly estimated Russian Chamber Philharmonic
of
St.Petersburg will play under
the conductor Jurij Gilbo the Overture in f minor op.5 and the
Symphony No.1 in c-minor
op.2.

the first CD recording of the quartets opp. 4 and 9 of Norbert Burgmüller,
performed on MD+G 336

Just been published has the
until now perhaps most intriguing performance of the Duo in E flat op.15
by
Norbert Burgmüller.
The interprets are the famous Karl Leister and the pianist Ferenc Bognár,
available on Camerata CMCD-28002.

Mendelssohn-Bartholdy as

The Edition
Dohr (Köln) has just published publish an
edition of the four
String Quartets by
Norbert
Burgmüller. The editor is Klaus Martin Kopitz.
Op. 14 is a new edition,
the remaining three quartets are first editions.
Besides the material, study
scores are available.
