Auryn - Quartett

The Auryn Quartett ranks today among the string quartets of most renowned internationally.
On the occasion of the commemoration ceremonies to 150th day of death of Norbert Burgmüller, provided that ensemble in 1986 in Düsseldorf the premieres of the String Quartets No. 1 in d op.4
and Nr.3 in A flat op.9 were executed by the Auryn Quartett. Following these concerts the Auryn quartet recorded both works for several broadcast stations. To a performance on CD it did not
come unfortunately so far.




 

Cherubini - Quartett

Being by no means inferior to the above colleagues, the Cherubini Quartett in its generation does have itself internationally established. In the same Düsseldorfer concert cycle of 1986 played the Cherubini Quartett after more than 120 years for the first time again the String quartet No.3 in d op.7 up. The Live performance of this concert in the following year was published on record.




Christian Lambour

The pianist, cembalist and organist Christian Lambour originated from the Netherlands and lives
today in Vienna. He was concerned already in the early 1980er years intensively with the works of Norbert Burgmüller and was invited in 1986 to Düsseldorf with the intending concerts, together
with the Bariton Wolfgang Pailer, to specify a selection of the songs of Burgmüller, among them
several premieres. Both artists published in the same year a record with songs of Burgmüller, to which Christian Lambour added the premieres of the Rhapsody op.13 and the Walzer wo. op.

Charlotte Lehmann

The internationally estimated Soprano Charlotte Lehmann was the first singer, to record the complete
Song Cycles op.3, 6 and 10 (with her piano partner Jost Michaels) at the beginning of the 1980er years
at for several broadcasting corporations. Many of her interpretations set also today still yardsticks.







 

Mannheimer Streichquartett

The Mannheimer Streichquartett,  internationally very well renowned, has still before uptaking
the cycle of the complete quartets of Norbert Burgmüller, his 4th String quartet publicly
specified. The first consequence of the CD publication with the quartets No. 2 and 4 received throughout  favourable reviews.







 

Jost Michaels

The internationally admitted clarinetist, pianist, conductor and paedagogue Jost Michaels occupied
himself since the early 1950ies with the works of Norbert Burgmüller. Until 1969 he had recorded
the Duo for clarinet and piano with different broadcasting corporations, before he could publish it
in 1970 the work in the reprint and thus its spreading in far circles to secure could. His exemplary recording of the songs of Burgmüller with Charlotte Lehmann and Klesie Kelly Moog, are further milestones of the Burgmüller interpretation.


 

 
Gerhard Puchelt (1913-1987)

 
Puchelt may be considered one of the founders of Romantic Revival  in Germany.
Tireless he played less known romantic repertoire and also piublished several
books concerned with his discoveries. The Rhapsody op.13 of Burgmüller he
programmed repeatedly and recorded it for several broadcast stations from 1951 on.
Plans to record further Burgmüller Piano Music due to his illness came to nothing.



 


 

Adrian Ruiz

The pianist Adrian Ruiz, very renowned in the United States, made himself the 1970ties a name
by a number of recordings with rare repertoire of the romantic era. Among the recordings par-
ticularly praised by connoisseurs, counts the Piano Sonata in f op.8 of Norbert Burgmüller
from the year 1972, the very first Burmüller publication on records. His admission hardly lost
after nearly three decades from its fascination.









 

Eckart Sellheim

The pianist Eckart Sellheim, native of Danzig lives and teaches for years in the USA. He concen-
trates since 1970 on the piano works of Norbert Burgmüller and played himself the Piano Sonata
in f op.8 for the first time 1973 for the broadcast and in 1982 followed with the premiere of the
Piano Concerto for the broadcast. 1986 in Düsseldorf interpreted Sellheim for the first time publicly
all piano works of Norbert Burgmüller, among them the premieres Polonaise in F op.16 and the Waltz wo.op. In his concerts he has since then again and again the Rhapsody in b set on the program.








 

Hans Vogt (1911-1992)

The well-known composer Hans Vogt was before the 2nd WW as a head conductor at the Detmold
Opera engaged. On the occasion of the celebrations to 100th day of death of Christian Dietrich Grabbe, on 1936 a concert under the slogan Music around Grabbe was arranged by Vogt. It brought the 1st Symphony in c with large success to a revival and the work, as admission for Cologne broadcast, had a few days later to be performed again. He ensured with the admission of this work, which to Hans Vogt own statement "rest over all the years near to his heart" (1984) the first ever
recording of any work by Burgmüller. Later Hans Vogt was concerned also with the 2nd Symphony  and wrote a much-considered article for the Musica journal about the symphonist Norbert Burg- müller (see literature) .
